the first time i encountered this museum was while in new york with erin last spring. we happened across MAD because we'd be walking forever and whatever more notable museum across the street was closed. i did not have high hopes. but we went in and they had a bombing exhibit on modern embroidery. i'm pretty sure that this museum is my subconscious embodied, only more well-developed and talented.
well, i keep running across articles for exhibits there that look amazing. the most recent catalyst for the tingling in my pants that this museum inspires is the 'second lives' exhibit they're running right now, which is all recycled art. the picture below is called 'sound wave". le sigh. if you are in new york in the new future, please check this place out and tell me what you think. because i think i want to live inside this place.
in other news, paul newman died last night. this makes me more sad than i feel entitled to be over a celebrity. he was just such a fucking badass, and a stand-up fellow, and he was happily married to his wife for 50 years. well, so it goes.
now i should probably talk about my own life, since there are actually things to talk about. or, i guess, thing to talk about. so today was my first day at the bread store. it was actually really cool. my manager seems like she's got a good head on her shoulders and her priorities straight, which is so refreshing after a year of shit jobs. i'm still going to look for jobs that will give me a salary, more responsibility, and health insurance, but i think i'll like working here. plus, i got a loaf of bread to take home today. that's pretty fucking sweet no matter how you cut it. haa!

That sculpture totally looks like something we'd do at WUOG just to be mean to crappy bands.
